Karjalacross is a two-day and one-night pair competition where you hike as far as you can in 36 hours on foot and with your own packraft, using orienteering skills. The entire route is 130 kilometers long. There is also a shorter series of eight hours and 30 kilometers available.

The event is organized with solid experience in hiking, rogaining and orienteering competitions.

Competition Categories 

• Women / 36 hours. 
• Men / 36 hours. 
• Mixed teams / 36 hours. 
• Open long, where devices such as phones are allowed / 36 hours. 
• Open short, where devices such as phones are allowed / 8 hours. 

Age Limit 14 years. Participants under 18-year-old competing without a guardian must present a participation permit from their guardian at registration. All participants must be prepared to show an ID.

Participation Fees

for 36 hours: 

- 31.12.2024: 139 euros/person 

1.1. - 30.4.2025: 159 euros/person 

1.5. - 31.5.2025: 179 euros/person 

for 8 hours: 

- 31.12.2024: 79 euros/person 

1.1. - 30.4.2025: 89 euros/person 

1.5. - 31.5.2025: 99 euros/person

The participation fee includes soup and sauna after the competition, maps, control point descriptions, gps-tracking, bibs and Karjalacross-patch

Registration

There are three registration phases. The last registration day is 31.5.2025.

While registering, first select whether your team will participate in the 36- hour or 8-hour competition. Then select the number of participants, fill in all fields, and it is highly recommended to introduce your team. Team members can register separately, but you must always write the names of all members in the respective registration field and the team name in the same format. 

Once the fields are filled, follow the instructions of the registration system, i.e., proceed to fill in your customer information and then make the payment. The correct price will automatically appear according to the number of people and the registration phase.

At the same time you can choose to rent a packraft for the competition with price of 80 euros. Package includes a two-person packraft, carbon or aluminium paddles depending on availability, manual and electric pump, inflation bag and repair kit.
